Get the care you deserve

Alex Tripoli, LCSW 103914

I started my professional life in national politics and international business, and transitioned to the mental health field in 2015 to create change on a more personal level. I received my Masters in Social Work from USC in 2017, and since then I have worked in the nonprofit space in addition to maintaining my own private therapy practice. Providing mental health services to the unhoused at St. Joseph Center and Covenant House has taught me the vital importance of recognizing each individual’s unique story and coming from a place of compassion rather than assigning labels.

You First isn’t just a name; it’s the philosophy that drives my work. On an airplane, you are required to put an oxygen mask on yourself before helping others. This principle is equally true for mental health: Prioritizing your mental health is a prerequisite for showing up – at work and at home – as the person you want to be. Likewise, you are the expert in your own experience. I provide a warm, judgment-free environment for you to reflect on how you got here and how to become the person you want to be.

I offer individual therapy to people who are experiencing depression, anxiety, panic symptoms, and grief as a result of major life transitions, professional impasses (especially in the entertainment industry), sex and relationship issues, family trauma, and loss of loved ones. Finding stability in an unstable world is exhausting; especially here in Los Angeles. I use mindfulness techniques, as well as tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Seeking Safety, Problem Solving Therapy and emotional processing to tailor a unique therapeutic approach to you.
